New Original Henry | Henry H011 | The New Original Henry | New Original Henry 45 colt
Henry H011. Metallic cartridges were the next big thing in firearms technology in the late 1850s, and in addition to the challenges of creating reliable and efficient self-contained rounds, the new ammunition required new gun designs that could fully exploit what the quick-loading cartridge offered. Designers were free to construct a rifle that could keep up thanks to cartridges that changed the market for slow-loading, slow-firing, and slow-reloading powder & ball single-shots. The incredibly gifted Benjamin Tyler Henry swiftly rose to the top in both of these categories. The outcome was the renowned repeating rifle in .44 Henry Rimfire known as the 1860 Henry.
The Henry was the 16-shot rifle known as “the rifle you could load on Sunday and shoot all week long.” It was an innovative design for a dependable and useful lever action repeater and was used in small quantities during the Civil War.
When the standard soldier could fire his muzzle-loading Springfield rifle up to three rounds per minute, a small unit armed with Henry rifles could deliver the firepower of an entire company. This innovative lever action rifle design served as the basis for a class of long weapons that are exclusively American and are still in use today, more than 155 years later.
We’ve reintroduced the Original Henry Rifle, produced exclusively within the United States, exactly like B. T. Henry’s firearms, with a lot of work and more than a little pride in a job well done. Our Henry Original adheres to Henry’s 1860 blueprints and patents and is almost identical, with the exception of modifications made to accommodate the .44-40 and .45 Colt centerfire rounds that replaced the rimfires that were long-obsolete.
The H011 and H011C are equipped with a one-piece octagonal barrel and magazine, fancy grade American Walnut stocks, a traditional folding ladder rear sight and blade front, a traditional half-cock safety hammer notch, and no modernized manual safeties. They also have a specially formulated hardened brass receiver with the same tensile strength as steel. A 24.5′′ barrel with a 13-round capacity is used by both calibers.
With serial numbers that start with BTH in his honor, Henry rifles from the Civil War era can currently fetch up to $250,000 at auction. This is your chance to purchase, shoot, and exhibit one of the most significant guns ever created.

FIREARMS SAFETY RULES
- All weapons should be handled as though they were loaded. Never forget that a gun has the capacity to cause fatality or serious injury in the blink of an eye. Make it a practice to handle your firearms safely at all times. When a gun appears to be unloaded, keep handling it as if it were loaded.
- Keep your guns aimed in a secure direction at all times! You must also take into account the fact that a bullet can pass through walls, ceilings, floors, and windows, as well as the fact that it can ricochet or glance off any object it strikes.
- Till you have set the gun’s sights on a secure target and decided to fire, keep your finger away from the trigger guard and off the trigger! You may ensure that all rounds you fire will safely travel in the direction of your intended target by keeping your finger entirely outside the trigger guard until you have locked your sights on the target.
- Always check to be sure your target and the area are secure before firing! Remember that a bullet can travel up to many miles, so before you pull the trigger, you should be assured of what your bullet might strike. Never shoot at a sound, a movement, a flash of color, or a rustling bush without first confirming that it is your intended target.
