SIG SAUER ANNOUNCES THE NEW CROSS STX BOLT – ACTION RIFLE

SIG CROSS STX REVIEW

SIG CROSS STX REVIEW | SIG CROSS STX

SIG CROSS STX Review. In 2020, SIG SAUER first unveiled the CROSS rifle. With either a 16′′ or 18′′ barrel length, the original AICS-fed CROSS bolt-action is offered in the calibers.308 Winchester, 6.5 Creedmoor, and.277 Fury. SIG has since released the original and a PRS model that increases the barrel length to 24″. The CROSS STX, a new member of the series, has now been revealed. This newest model has a barrel length that is in the middle at 20 inches, and it also has some additional distinguishing characteristics including a full-length 20 MOA top Picatinny rail and an SLH/SLX suppressor-ready QD flash hider. Read the official CROSS STX product description that is given below for more information.

The new SIG Cross STX is 41.5 inches overall and has a 20-inch hefty barrel and QD flash hider. Remember that, the SIG Precision Stock’s side-folding, fully adjustable PRS-style reduces the OAL to to 30 inches.

The Cross bolt-action mechanism has been upgraded by SIG Sauer to give it a more tactical feel while minimizing the weight of the rifle for times when the user has to be more mobile.

The only similarities to the normal Cross series rifle are that it has the same receiver and stock. SIG’s SLH/SLX suppressor-ready QD flash hider is mounted on 5/8×24 TPI threads on the muzzle of a 20-inch heavy barrel when the new SIG Cross STX leaves the factory. Additionally, it features a full-length 20-MOA top rail instead of the small rail found on the original Cross and a longer free float M-LOK handguard. This creates space for equipment like night vision and modular optics.

Note the PRS-style grip and the safety lever on the right-side thumb rest. The rifle comes with an external ambi paddle magazine release and a two-stage adjustable match trigger.

Dealers and distributors should soon receive this newest model in SIG’s CROSS series. Readers, what do you think about it? Is there a void in the CROSS portfolio that the new STX model fills? Or does it not distinguish itself sufficiently for you to think it is justified? What aspects and qualities do you find appealing or objectionable about it? Do you have any suggestions for improvements or new features? Any further calibers, perhaps? Have you used any of the currently available CROSS models? If so, how did you find them? Feel free to share your opinions with us in the comments section below. Come see us at the range.

The Cross STX comes with 10-round AICS detachable magazines and is available in.308 Winchester and 6.5 Creedmoor calibers. The rifle weighs 7.7 pounds when it is empty and without optics or accessories.

SIG claims that the new model is “the result of input from professional end-users looking for extreme performance in a lightweight, long-range platform,” adding that “The Cross STX brings a new level of performance and capability to the tactical shooter.”
